More Trading Options.
Because ETFs are priced on an intraday basis, just like stocks, you can specify
limit orders, stop-loss
orders and other trade execution alternatives not available to mutual fund
investors. For example:
-
Pick your Price.
Take advantage of order types such as limit orders,
stop orders, and stop-limit
orders not available to buyers and sellers of mutual funds. These types
of orders allow you to place an order at the price you choose.
-
Protect your Gains.
If you own an ETF that has gained in value
since your purchase, you can place a stop-loss sell order below the current price
to potentially lock in some of those gains should the price decline.
